Code of conduct for events sponsored by the MIT Libraries
At the MIT Libraries we are committed to an inclusive, collaborative, caring and respectful community environment. We aim to provide conference and event experiences that offer extraordinary and joyful learning for everyone. We welcome feedback on your experience at any MIT Libraries-sponsored event. It gives us an opportunity to continually learn and move toward our goals of inclusion and equity. We do not tolerate disrespect in any form. All event attendees are expected to adhere to MIT Policies and Procedures, Relations and Responsibilities within the MIT Community.
What you can do and how we will respond:
- If a participant engages in inappropriate behavior, the organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or immediate expulsion from the event. Participants who are asked by anyone to stop any harassing or disrespectful behavior must comply immediately.
- If you are being harassed, notice someone else being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact the event organizer or speak with any MIT Libraries staff person associated with the event. You can identify event staff by their name badges. They will help participants contact security or local law enforcement as appropriate, provide escorts, or otherwise help those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the program.
