Getting materials
- All circulating collections are available by request. See more information on requesting materials, pickup and delivery options, and turnaround times.
- Browse in person at Hayden, Lewis, and Rotch during staffed hours. Dewey collections are available for in-person browsing through June 12; after that date, items will be available by request. Search our collections any time.
- The Libraries will pay for your access to the journal literature you need, even with cut-backs on paywalled journal subscriptions. If we don’t already own or subscribe to an item, we can purchase or borrow it at no cost to you. Learn more about requesting articles and turnaround times.
Study space
- The Barker Library Reading Room (under the dome) and select study areas of the 5th floor are open 24/7 with MIT ID. All other Barker spaces are accessible to staff only.
- Dewey Library will close June 12, 2026. The 24/7 study space will remain available with MIT ID through the fall term.
- See current hours for all locations, including those with 24/7 study space.
