Our new library platform: What to know before you go

Changes are coming this summer

With the end of the term approaching, we wanted to share more information about the upcoming move to Primo, our new catalog interface for searching, browsing, and using our collections. As of July, you can expect search results to look a bit different, as well as new features that will provide a more seamless search experience with more relevant results.

Why we’re doing it
With the new platform, you can:

  • Search content through a single interface
  • Refine your search more effectively
  • Get content alerts: Save a search in your account and have new content that matches your criteria emailed to you
  • Connect to online content and make requests more seamlessly

What’s going away
Primo will replace the Barton Catalog, BartonPlus, and Vera – these will go away when the new interface launches. NOTE: If you have any saved records in Barton/Your Bookshelf that you wish to keep, download these before July, as they will not be transferred to the new system (for assistance, Ask Us).

How you can get a sneak peek
We are looking for volunteers to help us test the usability of the platform before we launch. If you are interested, please sign up!
