Coming soon: Duke to join Borrow Direct!

Borrow Direct bookbands

Colorful book bands identify books from Borrow Direct libraries.

Borrow Direct, the speedy book delivery service between university libraries, will welcome Duke in early May. Duke University Libraries are one of the nation’s top 10 private research libraries, and boast a collection of over 6 million volumes. Duke will join our eleven partner libraries, swelling Borrow Direct’s collective holdings to over 60 million volumes.

What does this mean for you? It means your Borrow Direct request goes to more universities, giving you access to a wider range of books. You can request books from Borrow Direct exactly as you did before.

Behind the scenes at Document Services, we’re clearing space for incoming Duke books, and speculating on what color their book bands will be. We can’t wait to expand the reach of our popular Borrow Direct service: welcoming Duke means more books get to more users. That’s what we’re all about.

If Borrow Direct is new to you, check out our web page to find out how Borrow Direct can help you get books that aren’t in the MIT Libraries collection.
