Window installation project at Barker Library

Work beginning Feb. 10 will affect 24/7 space

Barker Reading RoomBarker Engineering Library is now entering the installation phase of the project to replace windows and renew façades of Buildings 4, 8, and 10. The windows were removed last February and will now be replaced with new windows.

The installation project will affect the fifth floor, including the Barker Library 24/7 space, beginning Saturday, February 10, and continuing until all of the perimeter windows have been installed.

All of the work is slated to take place outside of business hours to minimize disruption to the MIT community. While the 24/7 space will remain open throughout the duration of the project, users of the space should expect noise and other disruptions. Additional 24/7 study spaces are available at Dewey and Hayden.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this work.
