In a recent report from the Pew Research Center, nearly three-quarters of U.S. adults polled (73%) say they’ve seen inaccurate news coverage about the 2024 election and half (52%) find it difficult to determine the accuracy of the news they’re reading. With a U.S. presidential election in full swing, conspiracy theories swirling around Hurricane Milton, and the flu season just around the corner, the spread of false information seems to be everywhere. Here at the Library, we’ve created some resources to help address the topics of mis- and disinformation.
- Disinformation Research Guide: Links to books, articles, and other sources of information analyzing these trends and offering ideas for how to address them.
- Election 2024: Links to news sources, organizations, and other sources to stay informed about the US 2024 election.
The Libraries have also sponsored panels and speakers on different aspects of the topic. You can find links to recordings of these events below.
