The MIT Libraries are excited to announce that Hayden Library’s 24-hour-accessible study space has expanded to include the second floor. The Quiet Reading Room, East Study Room, and Oasis, popular areas for quiet study, are available 24/7 with MIT ID, beginning Monday, March 4.

Community members with an MIT ID can now access floors 1, 1M, and 2 in Hayden Library 24 hours a day. In response to input from the MIT community expressing a desire for more quiet 24-hour study space, Hayden Library’s renovation in 2021 dramatically increased 24/7 space. With this additional space now available and the launch of 24/7 study in Rotch Library this fall, the Libraries continue to respond to community needs.

Access to the Hayden basement stacks remains available during regular staffed library hours. Additional 24/7 study space is also available with MIT ID in Barker, Dewey, and Rotch libraries.
