CREOS welcomes new postdoctoral associates

The Center for Research on Equitable and Open Scholarship (CREOS) is excited to welcome a second cohort of postdoctoral associates who will be conducting research for two-year terms as part of the 2023 Mellon Foundation award:

  • Hannah Hok Kim received her PhD in developmental psychology from the University of Chicago, where she studied social cognitive development and how children think about rules. While at CREOS she is interested in studying open scholarship practice, norms, motivations, and belief across discipline and research method, with a particular focus on the epistemology of science. Kim will also work with Rebecca Saxe, Associate Dean and John W. Jarve (1978) Professor in Brain and Cognitive Sciences.
  • James Michaelov earned his PhD in Cognitive Science at the University of California, San Diego, in 2024 and previously studied philosophy and linguistics at the University of Edinburgh, where he earned his master’s degree in cognitive science. At CREOS he is interested in researching and developing guidelines for the responsible use of artificial intelligence systems in science. Michaelov will also work with Professor Roger Levy in Brain and Cognitive Sciences.

For more information about Kim and Michaelov, please check the CREOS website. We are looking forward to having them join us in September.
