Dewey Library to Close June 12

24/7 study remains; collections available by request

As part of the MIT Libraries’ approach to budget reductions, Dewey Library will close permanently at 6pm on June 12. The Libraries are committed to ensuring ongoing access to management and social sciences resources, with some collections moving to Hayden as part of a new, interdisciplinary collection for in-person browsing, and the remainder available by request.

As of Monday, June 15:

  • Dewey collections will be available by request, with several pickup and delivery options available, including a new pickup locker that will be available in E53 for the fall term.
  • Course reserves and materials on hold at Dewey will move to Hayden; to request a different location, contact circulation@mit.edu.
  • Research support remains available virtually and in person.
  • The 24/7 study space will remain available with MIT ID at least through the fall term.
