Music double-header Friday 4/17

First violins, then saxophone!

Violin concertMusic and more music! On Friday at noon, come to the Lewis Music Library to hear Bach, Bartók, Corelli, and Halvorsen performed by talented MIT student musicians in the 13th annual Prokopoff violin music concert.

Students will perform selections from the more than 2,000 violin music scores collected by Stephen Prokopoff and donated to the Lewis Music Library in 2001 by Lois Craig, former Associate Dean of MIT’s School of Architecture and Planning. A reception follows.

Then at 2 pm the library is hosting Luciano Berio’s Sequenza: A Lecture-Recital by saxophonist Wallace Halladay, University of Toronto. This event is sponsored by MIT CAST (Center for Art, Science & Technology).
