Consultations are available via Zoom or in person.

Have a research question but aren’t sure where to begin? Starting work on your thesis? Or just want to know if we have a book? Just ask us — there are lots of ways we can help members of the MIT community!

Make an appointment

  • For the most complex questions, check our new consultations appointment service to find a time and specialist that work best for you. Librarians are available via Zoom and in person for consultations on research or about class assignments.

Chat with us

  • Chat with us Monday-Friday, 10am-5pm, except Institute holidays, about borrowing, requesting, and reserves.

Email us

  • Email us – we’ll get back to you by 5pm the next business day, and usually sooner, with questions about research and coursework, and technical troubleshooting of library resources.
