Don’t lose data when your students graduate!

We can help you make a plan

Students graduating from your lab? Before they leave, be sure to check in with all your graduating students to set up a plan for best data management practices. They may have data and information about that data that you will need to recall later. Consider the following questions to ask your students:

  • Where is the data stored?
  • Is the data backed up?
  • Is there a readme file associated with the data?
  • Does this data support any figures or tables from recent publications?

We don’t want you to lose any important research data! Contact the MIT LIbraries Data Management Services at if you have any questions or need help with ensuring your lab’s data remains accessible and well documented.
