Don’t lose data when your students graduate!

We can help you make a plan

Students graduating from your lab? Before they leave, be sure to check in with all your graduating students to set up a plan for best data management practices. They may have data and information about that data that you will need to recall later. Consider the following questions to ask your students:

  • Where is the data stored?
  • Is the data backed up?
  • Is there a readme file associated with the data?
  • Does this data support any figures or tables from recent publications?

We don’t want you to lose any important research data! Contact the MIT LIbraries Data Management Services at data-management@mit.edu if you have any questions or need help with ensuring your lab’s data remains accessible and well documented.
