Designed to support both exploratory and known-item searching, it brings together content from across the Libraries’ digital ecosystem and helps connect users with the resources, services, and specialized tools most relevant to their needs.

The launch reflects MIT Libraries’ ongoing commitment to improving discovery and access for the MIT community. Developed through user research, usability testing, and community feedback, Search MIT Libraries offers a more streamlined way to begin research while continuing to support the Libraries’ rich network of specialized research tools.

Tools such as Articles, Books & More, Archives & Manuscripts, subject databases, and other specialized resources remain available and continue to provide advanced functionality for in-depth research. Search MIT Libraries complements these services by helping users identify the best resources and pathways for their work.
