Ullmann’s Encyclopedia of Industrial Chemistry: Use restrictions

“Authorized users may download, view, copy and save to hard disk or diskette and store or print out single copies of individual articles for the Authorized Users’ own personal use, scholarly, educational, or scientific research and the Licensee’s internal business use. Authorized Users may transmit to a third party colleague in hard copy or electronically, a single article from the Electronic Encyclopedia for personal use or scholarly, educational, or scientific research or professional use or for corporate informational purposes but in no case for re-sale.” Other than as provided for above, “Authorized Users may not copy, distribute, transmit or otherwise reproduce material from the Electronic Encyclopedia; store such material in any form or medium in a retrieval system; download and/or store five or more articles from the Electronic Encyclopedia; or transmit such material, directly or indirectly, for use by an information brokerage or for systematic distribution, whether or not for commercial or non-profit use or for a fee or free of charge.”

Standard use restrictions also reply, as follows:

Use of many of these resources is governed by license agreements which restrict use to the MIT community and to individuals who use the MIT Libraries’ facilities. It is the responsibility of each user to ensure that he or she uses these products only for individual, noncommercial use without systematically downloading, distributing, or retaining substantial portions of information.
