Individual study
- Large tables in the main reading room, 2nd floor map area, as well as study nooks on upper floors.
- Quiet carrels in the stacks and more secluded study spots on either end of upper floors and on 1st floor.
- Comfy seating in reading room and near elevator.
Group study
- There are no private study rooms, but the GIS & Data Lab on the 1st floor of Rotch can be used for group study.
- Group study spaces can also be found at Barker (10-500) and our other locations.
24/7 study
The 2nd (main) floor is available 24/7 to all MIT community members, accessible with their MIT ID outside business hours.
GIS & Data Lab
The GIS & Data Lab has flexible seating for:
- 40+, appropriate for individual or group study.
- Multiple computers with GIS and specialized data visualization software.
- Variety of large plug ‘n’ play monitors.
