By embracing the diamond open access model, the journal strives to encourage the publication of new research by more diverse voices and better serve the cognitive science community.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have seen a hurdle in the form of costs associated with publishing open access,\u201d said <a href=\"https:\/\/bcs.mit.edu\/directory\/edward-gibson\">Edward Gibson<\/a>, Editor of <em>Open Mind<\/em> and Professor, Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences at MIT. \u201cEven though our open access charge was very low, we think that this was a major deterrent to cognitive science researchers.
