The awards celebrate exemplary projects that represent excellent design work, collaboration across disciplines, and investment from committed clients. The Hayden renovation, designed by Kennedy &amp; Violich Architecture, was recognized in three categories:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/designawards.architects.org\/2021-award-winners\/2021-honor-awards-for-design-excellence\/\">Honor Awards for Design Excellence<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/designawards.architects.org\/2021-award-winners\/2021-accessible-design\/\">Accessible Design<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/designawards.architects.org\/2021-award-winners\/2021-education-facilities-design\/\">Higher Education Facilities Design<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Jurors for the 2021 Design Awards commented: &#8220;The diversity of the study\/reading spaces\u2014with views of the Charles River and Courtyard\u2014introduced in this submission was found to be not only artful, but also significantly more inclusive and open than its predecessor.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Related video:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/Jyk3vteHyew\">Go inside the Hayden Library renovation<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Hayden Library renovation was honored by the Boston Society for Architecture as part of the 2021 BSA Design Awards.
