Here\u2019s a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/libraries.mit.edu\/research-support\/new-library-platform\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">refresher<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> on what will look different, what will stay the same, and what new features to look for.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Accessing collections<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The launch of this major systems upgrade was planned to ensure as minimal impact as possible on the community.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">From July 9 to 13, although you will not be able to request materials directly from the catalog, you can still request materials from the Libraries during this time via the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/libraries.mit.edu\/ask\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ask Us<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> chat service or by emailing <\/span><a href=\"mailto:circulation@mit.edu\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">circulation@mit.edu<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Throughout the upgrade, you can still request books from other libraries via <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/libraries.mit.edu\/borrow\/borrowdirect\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Borrow Direct<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, articles and chapters via <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/libraries.mit.edu\/illiad\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">interlibrary loan<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, or <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/libraries.mit.edu\/suggest-purchase\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">suggest a purchase<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> in digital or print format.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You\u2019ll have uninterrupted access to online resources, including e-books, online journals, databases, and streaming media.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Try it out<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This upgrade aims to give MIT community members a more intuitive and seamless experience searching, browsing, and accessing our collections. We encourage you to try it out, get familiar with the new platform, and let us know what you think (we\u2019ll provide a feedback link).
