To donate digital materials, please use the workflow below that corresponds to the the size of your donation and the location of your files.<\/p>\n

If your files are on:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Google Drive, Dropbox or a networked drive<\/h3>\n

Provide the Digital Archivist, Joe Carrano (carrano@mit.edu<\/a>), view\/read-only access to the drive or specific folders. Contact your department\u2019s IT or IS&T if you need assistance. We\u2019ll email you to confirm access and the successful transfer of your digital files.<\/p>\n

A computer and you\u2019re donating 2GB or less<\/h3>\n

Transfer using the Digital Transfer Tool<\/a>. We\u2019ll email you to confirm the successful transfer of your digital files.<\/p>\n

A computer and you\u2019re donating 2GB or more (four options)<\/h3>\n

  1. Use the DART tool to transfer the files according to these instructions for using DART<\/a>. If you are not able to open or use the linked page, please contact ddc-offers@mit.edu<\/a> for assistance<\/li>\n
  2. Make a copy and deliver it to us. Copy the digital files to an external hard drive or USB drive and email ddc-offers@mit.edu<\/a> to tell us when you\u2019ll deliver the files to the DDC Reading Room (14N-118). Be sure to specify the operating system (Windows, Mac, Linux) the files are formatted in.<\/li>\n
  3. You come to us \u2013 bring your laptop to the reading room in 14N-118 and we\u2019ll transfer the files directly from your machine. Email ddc-offers@mit.edu<\/a> to schedule an appointment.<\/li>\n
  4. We come to you \u2013 an MIT archivist will come to your office or schedule a remote consultation to retrieve the records directly from your computer. Email ddc-offers@mit.edu<\/a> to schedule an appointment.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
