Records received in 1977, boxes 1-7, 1934-1965, contain faculty and personnel files, and information on students. Course notes, problem sets, and information about the Center for Urban Studies and the Department of City and Regional Planning document teaching and curriculum development. There are records about budgets, fund raising, and the establishment of fellowships, and information about school committees including the Burdell Committee on City Planning, the Study of Lighting Committee, the Carrisbrooke Development Committee, the MIT Permanent Art Collection Committee, the Committee on Educational Policy, and the Committee on Graduate School Policy.

Records received in 1994, boxes 8-42, 1971-1992, provide information about the school's programs, including the Aga Khan Program for Islamic Architecture; the Center for Real Estate Development; the Program in Arts, Media and Technology; the Joint Center for Urban Studies; and the expansion of Rotch Architecture Library. Also included are records of the School Council, visiting committees, fund raising and development, personnel and search files, and annual reports to the president of the Institute.
