Information on and images of\u00a0137 projects nominated during\u00a0the 13th cycle of the Aga Khan Award for Architecture<\/a> (AKAA) is now available on Archnet. \u00a0The prestigious prize is\u00a0awarded every 3 years to projects that set new standards of excellence in architecture, planning practices, historic preservation and landscape architecture.<\/p>\n

The diverse list of AKAA nominees includes a wide variety of projects in more than 40 countries around the world. \u00a0There are rehabilitation and construction projects in Tunisia,<\/a>\u00a0Spain<\/a>,\u00a0Palestine<\/a>\u00a0and Bahrain<\/a>; housing projects in Yemen<\/a>, Turkey<\/a>, and Indonesia<\/a>; educational and cultural facilities in Kenya<\/a>, Iran<\/a>, Australia<\/a>, and Algeria<\/a>\u00a0and Afghanistan<\/a>; mosques in Switzerland<\/a>, Saudi Arabia<\/a>, Jordan<\/a>, and China<\/a>; gardens or\u00a0parks in Lebanon<\/a> and Kuwait<\/a>;\u00a0development projects for disadvantaged communities in Rwanda<\/a> and\u00a0India<\/a>; and much more.<\/p>\n
