We wish to take this opportunity to thank our contributors and supporters for making 2016 such a good year for <a href=\"http:\/\/archnet.org\">Archnet<\/a>.\u00a0Development continues to make the site more responsive and user-friendly. As a result, Archnet user statistics have increased by more than 20% over the same period last year, running up more than 2,700,000 page views. Earlier this month, the Global Grid named Archnet one of <a href=\"http:\/\/libraries.mit.edu\/akdc\/2016\/12\/18\/archnet-named-one-of-top-20-architecture-sites-for-2016\/\">2016&#8217;s Top 20 Architecture Sites of 2016<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>More than 8,000 new sites, publications, videos, images and other records have been published in 2016, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Descriptions, video, images, reports, and presentation boards for recipients and projects <a href=\"http:\/\/archnet.org\/collections\/963\">shortlisted for the 13th cycle<\/a> of the <a href=\"http:\/\/archnet.org\/collections\/awards\">Aga Khan Award for Architecture<\/a><\/li>\n<li>More than 1,900 images from the <a href=\"http:\/\/archnet.org\/collections\/802\">glass negatives collection<\/a> of the Tangier American Legation Institute for Moroccan Studies depicting early 20th century Tangier and other places in Morocco, Algeria, Spain, and France<\/li>\n<li>The collection <a href=\"http:\/\/www.archnet.org\/collections\/850\">Turkish Women in Architecture<\/a>, which includes biographies of prominent women in the field, as well as documentation of their projects. The collection is the largest of several additions to the <a href=\"http:\/\/archnet.org\/collections\/664\">Women in Architecture<\/a> collection<\/li>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<li>The first selections of material from the archive of Iraqi architect <a href=\"http:\/\/archnet.org\/collections\/851\">Hisham Munir<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Images and documentation of 28 examples of <a href=\"http:\/\/archnet.org\/collections\/903\">Art Deco architecture in Cairo<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Documentation of recent projects of the <a href=\"http:\/\/archnet.org\/collections\/historic_cities\">Aga Khan Historic Cities Programme<\/a>, including the <a href=\"http:\/\/archnet.org\/sites\/8228\">Conservation of the Arab Serai Gateway<\/a> in Delhi, and <a href=\"http:\/\/archnet.org\/sites\/15680\">Stor Palace<\/a> in Kabul.<\/li>\n<li>Exhibitions such as <a href=\"http:\/\/archnet.org\/collections\/949\">Architecture on the Fringes: Oman<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/archnet.org\/collections\/1217\">Tangier Then and Now<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/archnet.org\/collections\/962\">Roman Ruins in Tunisia<\/a>, a series of occasional exhibitions marking events such as International Days of the UN,\u00a0and others.<\/li>\n<li>The first selections of material from the archives of prominent scholars such as <a href=\"http:\/\/archnet.org\/authorities\/2874\">Yasser Tabbaa<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/archnet.org\/authorities\/6870\">Marilyn Jenkins-Madina<\/a>, and other scholars.<\/li>\n<li>plus much more.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We\u2019ve assembled a small selection of new material in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.archnet.org\/collections\/1232\">an\u00a0Archnet collection<\/a>\u00a0for your to browse.
