\"\"<\/a>The Aga Khan Documentation Center, MIT Libraries (AKDC@MIT), is seeking a video assistant to edit video to be posted on Archnet.org<\/a>, an open access, scholarly resource focused on architecture, urbanism, environmental and landscape design, visual culture, and conservation issues, with a particular focus on the Muslim world.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Duties<\/strong>: Create video for two projects:<\/p>\n

\u2022 The Music of Morocco<\/a> Project – Creation of video slideshows for uploading digitized versions of audio recordings made in Morocco, 1959-1962.\u00a0 Examples can be seen in the collection on Archnet, but videos still need to be created for more than 1\/2 the recordings.<\/p>\n

\u2022 The Architect\u2019s Archive of Hisham Munir<\/a>-Creation of video from interviews in which the prominent Iraqi architect discusses his career and works. Videos will combine two sets of video, two sets of audio recordings, and various supplementary media.<\/p>\n

The editing itself requires only basic skills. The successful applicant will need to demonstrate an attention to detail and the ability to work independently, including the critical judgement necessary to make decisions based on clear guidelines.<\/p>\n

About the Aga Khan Documentation Center, MIT Libraries<\/a><\/strong>: Located on the first floor of Rotch Library, AKDC@MIT is a research center supporting documentation, scholarship, and teaching on the history and theory of architecture, urbanism, environmental and landscape design, visual culture, and conservation, as well as the practice of architecture, in Muslim societies, with particular focus on the research and teaching activities of the faculty, students, and post-doctoral fellows of the Aga Khan Program for Islamic Architecture at MIT and Harvard.<\/p>\n

Required Qualifications:<\/strong>
\n\u2022 Skills with simple video editing software such as iMovie, Windows MovieMaker, or Adobe Premiere<\/p>\n

Preference will be given<\/strong> to candidates with one or more of the following desired qualifications:
\n\u2022 Academic background in architecture, art history, North African or Middle Eastern cultures<\/p>\n

Hours:<\/strong> 10-20 hours\/week
\nStarting Wage<\/strong>: $15-23\/Hour, depending on experience and skill level
\nStart date and term<\/strong>: Starting immediately, continuing through the summer, with possibility of extension.
