Lobby 7 Post-2016 Election Posters
In response to the 2016 presidential election results, early Wednesday morning, November 9, 2016, after the election a few students wrapped posters around the pillars in Lobby 7 so that MIT students and community members could share their reactions. These 12 posters were transferred to the Institute Archives and Special Collections after they were taken down on Friday, November 11, 2016, where they will be accessible for anyone to examine and learn from, now and in the future. They have been added to the Collection on Student Life at MIT (MC-0618), a collection which offers a glimpse of the social backdrop students experience while at MIT.
The posters, which measure between 11.5 and 16 feet long and 3 to 4 feet high, are themed around four ideas:
- What do you want to know? (4 posters)
- Share your hopes (3 posters)
- Share your fears (3 posters)
- What should we do next? (2 posters)
Links to digital images of the posters, as well as a moving image of each, are linked above.
