I found my item in Barton. What now?

Is it in print or electronic format? If it is available electronically, there will be a link to the web page in the Barton record. Click that link to get to the book or journal. For many of these items, you will need certificates to access the full text.

Off-campus users: Links to full text in Barton will often not work from off-campus. Search Vera for the book or journal title to access it electronically outside of MIT. When using Vera, a green Go button in the far right hand column will indicate which resources are available off-campus.

Items in print: The record in Barton will tell you which MIT library has the book or journal that you need. Click on the Availability field to see whether or not the item can be borrowed, and where in the library it is located. For items at the Library Storage Annex, our remote storage facility, fill out a request form to have the item delivered to your closest library.
