Searching for Conference Proceedings

Use the Conferences search to find books that are designated as conference proceedings. This is a subset of the entire Barton catalog, and will not include journals, theses, or books that are not conference proceedings.

In the Keyword Conference Search box, enter unique terms from your conference title.

Example:

To find: "Proceedings of the 11th IAARC/CIB/IEEE/IFR International Symposium on Automation and Robotics in Construction. 11th ISARC 1994. Brighton, UK."

Run this search:

Tip:

  • do not include dates, locations, years or conference numbers (such as 4th, 21st, etc.)
  • do not include common terms such as "conference" or "proceedings"
  • if you find the right conference but the wrong year, try searching by the call number of the one you found - conferences often change title slightly which means multiple records, but are usually assigned the same call#
  • if you didn't find the conference you're looking for, try using the Basic Search.

Searching for Conference Series

Many conferences are assigned a series name or abbreviation and a volume number, like Proceedings of the SPIE, Materials Research Society Symposia Proceedings, or Lecture Notes in Computer Science. In these cases, use the Conferences search and enter significant words of the series title/acronym and the volume number.

Examples:

To find: Enter:
"Lecture Notes in Computer Science v.1234" lecture notes computer science 1234
"ASME MED v.12" asme med 12
"Proceedings of the SPIE v. 2223" spie 2223
