Computer Use Guidelines

  • These computers are provided for your convenience by the MIT Libraries. Please do not abuse these computers.

  • An MIT Kerberos login and password are required for access. Protect your privacy – be sure to logout and protect your password.

  • Respect others waiting to use the computers. These are meant for quick access to the MIT network.

  • Be aware of the public nature of these computers. Others can see what you are viewing. Please do not use these machines to view materials that may be offensive or obscene.

  • These computers have access to web browsers (Netscape, Internet Explorer, Mozilla), popular browser plug-ins (Quick Time, Flash Player, Shockwave player), Leash 32, Filezilla, Microsoft office viewers, and VirusScan.

  • How to print - coming soon

  • The Stata Center has wireless capability. If you have your own laptop and a wireless device, you can connect to the network without using these machines.

  • Food crumbs and drink spills are the primary cause of equipment damage. Please do not eat food directly over or near the computers.
