New pilot service: MIT Faculty Office Delivery

Request Items via Your Account

Your Account in the Barton catalog allows members of the MIT and Harvard borrowing communities to request MIT Libraries materials for pick-up at any MIT library.

  • Available items will be delivered in 1-2 business days, depending on location.
  • Requests are limited to 6 items per day.
  • Email notification is sent when items are ready for pick-up.
  • Items will remain on hold at the pick-up location for 7 days.

How do I request an item via Your Account?

  • Search the Barton catalog for the item you'd like to request. (If you need help searching the catalog, see the Barton Basics self-help guide.)
  • Once you've located the item, click on the Request item button.

  • You will see the Touchstone log in screen.
    • MIT users: Choose MIT Kerberos account (or MIT web certificate)and click "Continue."
    • Non-MIT users: Choose Touchstone Collaboration Account and click "Continue." (Want to know if you're eligible to request MIT Libraries items? See our Circulation FAQ.)

  • After you log in using either your existing MIT Kerberos account/web certificate or the Touchstone Collaboration Account, you will be redirected to the Barton Your Account request form.
  • Choose a pick-up location from the drop-down menu.

  • Supply any additional citation information, if necessary. Click Go to submit your request.
  • You will receive an email notification when the item is ready for pick-up.

What happens if I can't find an item in Barton?
