Services lends original materials owned by the MIT Libraries to other institutions.
We do not lend MIT theses; however we do sell electronic and paper copies.

Items are lent to institutions in the U.S. and Canada, not to individuals.
There is no charge for loans to members of the Boston Library Consortium who have reciprocal relationships with MIT or companies belonging to the Industrial Liaison Program.
Loan Period: 28 days. Items may be renewed once for an additional 10 days if available. Please contact us. |

Which We Do NOT Lend: Dissertations, theses, sound recordings, videocassettes,
CD ROMS, DVDs, computer diskettes, microforms, M2 and M3 scores.
Lost Book Policy: Our non-refundable fee for a lost book is $135. Books are considered lost once they are more than 2 months overdue. Please contact Document Services at docs@mit.edu with further questions.
How to Make an ILL Request
Interlibrary Loan requests may be initiated through OCLC (our symbol is MYG) or our secure online Interlibrary Loan Request Form.
Return Policy: We request all original materials owned by the MIT Libraries be returned by traceable shipper to the following address:
