to non-MIT institutions - Interlibrary Loan
Document
Services lends original materials owned by the MIT Libraries to other institutions.
It also provides photocopies, including copies of dissertations and theses.

Lending
Policies and Prices
Items
are lent to institutions in the U.S. and Canada, not to individuals. The charge
for lending is $20 per volume, U.S. postage included. An additional charge
for DHL shipment will be added for items going to Canada. There is no charge
for loans to Boston Library Consortium or ILP members.
Loan
Period: 28. Additional 10 days on request when
available.
Items
Which We Do NOT Lend: Dissertations, theses, sound recordings, videocassettes,
CD ROMS, DVDs, computer diskettes, microforms, M2 and M3 scores.
How
to Make an ILL Request
Interlibrary
Loan requests may be initiated by email, OCLC, fax, mail. To avoid
delay, please specify on your request that the $20 domestic or
$20 + DHL Canadian charge is acceptable. Requests may also be
made online through the Interlibrary
Loan Request Form.
