Calling all incoming graduate and undergraduate students! Do you like ice cream? Feeling a little nervous about your upcoming course load? Want to have a little fun before the term begins? The staff at the MIT Libraries is hosting a wide variety of events to welcome you to MIT. Join us to discover what the Libraries have to offer — our staff, collections, services, and resources – and find out what we can do to make your life at MIT easier!

Events for undergraduate students:

  • Academic Expo: Wednesday, August 30, 3:00 – 4:30 pm
  • Freshmen Explorations: Ice Cream Social: Thursday, August 31, 3:00 – 4:00 pm
  • Hitchhiker’s Guide Library Tours: Saturday, August 26, 2:00 pm & Thursday, August 31, 11:00 am & 2:00 pm
  • International Undergraduate Students Breakfast: Wednesday, August 23, 10:30 – 11:30 am

Events for Graduate Students:

  • 7th Annual New Graduate Student Reception: Wednesday, August 30, 5:00 – 7:00 pm
  • Graduate Student Orientation: Grad School 102: Tuesday, August 29, 2:00 – 3:00 pm
  • International Graduate Student Orientation: Wednesday, August 30, 10:00 – 11:00 am

Events for all students:

  • Health & Wellness Fair: Friday, September 1, 2:00 – 5:00 pm
