Exterior masonry work at Barker Library

Work continues through mid-May

Barker Reading RoomBarker Engineering Library – as part of the Institute’s investment in infrastructure renewal – will once again be impacted by the project to replace windows and renew façades of Buildings 4, 8, and 10, which face MIT.nano, as the project moves to the exterior masonry work phase.

The work will impact the fourth and fifth floors, including the Barker Reading Room, beginning Monday, April 24, and continuing through mid-May until the work has been completed. All of the work is slated to take place from 6am to 3pm, with the loudest work early in the day to minimize disruption to the MIT community.

Barker will remain open throughout the duration of the project, but users of the space should expect noise and other disruptions. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this work.
