Prokopoff violin music concert on April 7th

On Friday, April 7 from noon to 1 pm the Lewis Music Library (14E-109) will host the 4th annual concert of violin music donated from the collection of Stephen Prokopoff. MIT students Nina Young ’07, Lori Ferriss ’09, Daniel Steele ’06, David Foxe G, Sophie Rapoport ’07, Lori Huberman ’07, Jacqueline O’Connor ’06, Sunny Wicks ’07, and Pavitra Kumar G will perform music by Vivaldi, Messiaen, Blacher, Saint-Saens, and Ravel.

In 2001, Lois Craig, former Associate Dean of MIT’s School of Architecture and Planning, donated her late husband’s collection of 2,680 violin scores to the library. Over 2,000 of the scores have been cataloged, bound, and added to the library’s collection and many have already circulated to the large number of violinists at MIT.

Come enjoy some wonderful music in the attractive setting of the Lewis Music Library!
