Naxos Music Library & Naxos Jazz

The MIT Libraries subscribe to the Naxos Music Library and Naxos Music Library Jazz.

Naxos Music Library is an online resource which contains over 253,000 tracks of recorded music that are available to the MIT community for listening from your office or home computer.

To access the Naxos Music Library, go to http://libraries.mit.edu/get/naxos (MIT certificates required from off campus)

You can also go to http://libraries.mit.edu/vera and enter keyword: Naxos

Naxos requires the following specifications:

PC users:

Plug-in: Must have Windows Media Player 9 / 10 Series, downloadable through the Naxos site.
Browser: Features are optimized through IE; cookies must be enabled in any browser used.

Mac users:

Plug-in: Must download the correct version of Windows Media Player; Users with Mac OS 8.6 or 9.0 should download version 7.1; Users with Mac OS 10 or higher should download version 9.
Off-campus Mac users: Access via the VPN if you are having any technical problems.
Unix/Linux is not supported.

If you have a problem with 'breaks' in the music, try switching from Near CD Quality [64Kbps] to FM Quality [20Kbps].

Users may view playlists but may not create or edit playlists.

Naxos Music Library Jazz offers close to 22,600 tracks of jazz from over 2,300 albums. Over 500 jazz artists are represented. Naxos Music Library Jazz comprises Naxos Jazz and the 22 labels of Fantasy Jazz.

Technical requirements: same as for Naxos Music Library.

Users may view playlists but may not create or edit playlists.

MIT's subscription allows 6 simultaneous users.
