First Floor

This view from the first floor reading area shows the nineteen glass panels on the mezzanine which contain a two-part canon, Veni Creator Spiritus written for the library by composer and MIT music professor John Harbison. The library's current journals are located on racks (far right) in this lounge area. The three windows behind the lounge chairs look into the Lawrence Erdmann Special Collections Room.
