DRAM: Database of Recorded American Music

The MIT Libraries now subscribe to DRAM (Database of Recorded American Music). This scholarly resource of recordings by American composers and artists includes CD quality audio, liner notes and essays from the New World, Composers Recordings Inc. (CRI), and other important labels. Currently, there are over 1,200 CDs (7,500 compositions) in DRAM.

To access DRAM, go to http://libraries.mit.edu/get/dram (MIT certificates required from off campus)

You can also go to Vera and enter keyword: DRAM

DRAM is designed to be compatible with the following browsers:

  • Internet Explorer 5.2 (Macintosh users) or 6.0 (Windows users) or higher
  • Netscape 7.2 (Macintosh) or 8.0 (Windows)
  • Firefox 1.0 or higher (Windows and Macintosh)
  • Safari 1.2.4 (Macintosh only)

QuickTime 6.5.2 or later is the preferred plugin for DRAM streaming media. The DRAM site gives information about plugins and technical requirements.
