The Library Storage Annex houses many of the lesser-used materials in the MIT Libraries. Users may request items from this closed-stack collection.

How can I get materials from the Annex?

  • Electronic delivery via WebDocs (~$6 MIT / ~$12 non-MIT)
    Electronic delivery of journal articles and conference papers.

  • Delivery to campus libraries (free service)
    LSA-owned material delivered to any MIT Library circulation desk.

  • Visit the Annex - appointment information
    Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm, 617.253.7040


    The Annex is open for on-site use by appointment only to:

    - Members of the MIT community
    Please have the Annex staff verify availability of the materials.


    - Non-MIT users with a serious scholarly research need
    Users without MIT identification must make an appointment at least one business day in advance and submit requests at the same time. Also see Library Services for Non-MIT Users.

    Photocopiers
    The Annex has one photocopier available to the public. Our photocopier does not have copycard capability. We do accept cash and checks for photocopies.
