Student
questions about course reserves | Faculty
questions
1.
How do I go about placing materials on reserve for a class?
Submit a list of items to be put on reserve to Lindgren Library,
54-200, Attn: Joe Hankins. Or fill out the duplicate COOP book order
form. (On-line information
and order
forms are available.) One copy will be forwarded to Lindgren
Library. If you fill out a COOP form, you can choose whether the
books are required for textbook purchase, library reserve only,
or both.
2.
How early should I order textbooks for course reserves?
We recommend ordering textbooks for course reserves at least 1 month
before the beginning of each semester. Some book orders can take
months to arrive from the publisher.
3.
Do I need to fill out a special form just to place a book on reserve
in Lindgren Library?
In Lindgren Library we prepare a listing of all Course 12 reserves
for the students to consult. We will accept a request that includes
your name, the name and e-mail address of a library contact (TA
perhaps), the course name (number) and book information that may
include author, title, publisher, and date of publication. Indicate
call number and edition of a book already in the MIT library collection.
You may put a personal copy on reserve as well as class notes.
