Compatability with MIT Resources
Zotero supports automatic downloading of records from many resources that are widely used at MIT, including:
Zotero is becoming automatic with more resources frequently, so check the the list of compatible sites for more information.
Importing and Exporting
Zotero can import and export files in the following bibliographic file formats:
Users can also transfer records between Zotero to and from RefWorks and EndNote.
Barton and Zotero
Zotero can be set up to work with the MIT Libraries' web catalog, Barton. Once installed, Zotero will sense when records from Barton are displayed. By clicking on the Zotero icon in the web address bar, users can select one or more records to save to their library.
(Note: Due to some customizations we made to improve our catalog interface, Zotero will not show individual titles when selecting which records to import, but titles will be listed as "Display full record." After import, the titles will display correctly.) Subject tags in library records will be saved into the tags field in Zotero.
Locating articles through Zotero
When looking at items in your Zotero collection, clicking "Locate" will direct you to the page of your local library to find the item. To set MIT as your favorite library, click on "actions," "preferences," then enter "http://owens.mit.edu:8888/sfx_local" as resolver, version 0.1.
