Engineering Village Databases

Available to the MIT community free of charge, through the MIT Libraries's subscription to these databases. Using the Engineering Village interface, it is possible to set up research alerts in Compendex and Inspec.

What is it?

Email notification service for

  • article alerts (SDI; results of searches you construct, run weekly)

How do I change my profile?

  • Access the database (through VERA: http://libraries.mit.edu/vera)
  • Click on the "Saved Searches" button
  • Logon with your username/password
  • Follow the directions

How do I subscribe?

  • Access the database (through VERA: http://libraries.mit.edu/vera)
  • Perform the search to be run weekly
  • Click on the "Search History" button
  • Select the box next to the search you wish to run as an alert
  • Fill out the registration form
  • Follow the directions
