Cambridge Scientific Abstracts Databases

Available to the MIT community free of charge, through the MIT Libraries's subscription to these databases. Using the Cambridge Scientific Abstracts interface, it is possible to set up research alerts in Aerospace and High Technology, ARTbibliographies Modern, Environmental Sciences and Pollution Management Collection, Linguistics and Language Behavior Abstracts, Materials Science Collection, Meteorological and Geoastrophysical Abstracts, NTIS, Oceanic Abstracts, Sociological Abstracts, Worldwide Political Science Abstracts.

What is it?

Email notification service for

  • article alerts (SDI; results of searches you construct, run periodically)

How do I change my profile?

  • Access the database (through VERA: http://libraries.mit.edu/vera)
  • Click on the "Search History/Alerts" button
  • Click on "List Saved Alerts"
  • Logon with your username/password
  • Follow the directions

How do I subscribe?

  • Access the database (through VERA: http://libraries.mit.edu/vera)
  • Perform the search to be run periodically
  • Click on the "Search History/Alerts" button
  • Click on "Save as Alert"
  • Follow the directions
