AMPS provides video support for academic programs, departments and Institute initiatives. A variety of services are offered on a cost recovery basis, from video production and distance education support to post-production and publishing video to the web.

Boston Library Consortium: Access for MIT community members
Most BLC member libraries are open to on-site use by patrons of other member libraries. If your work requires extensive use of materials not available at MIT, you may qualify for a Boston Library Consortium (BLC) card which will enable you to borrow materials from another BLC library.
Browser Extensions and Toolbars for Library Research

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Services
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) enable users to visualize and analyze spatial information in a dynamic, digital environment. It provides tools for integrating, querying and analyzing a wide variety of data types, such as scientific and cultural data, satellite imagery and aerial photography, as well as data collected by individuals, into projects, with geographic locations providing the integral link between all the data.

Interlibrary Borrowing
Need something that MIT doesn’t own? We can help! ILB obtains materials not owned by MIT. ILB exists to support the teaching, learning, research, and other Institute-related work of current MIT faculty, students, staff and visiting scholars.
Laptops Available For Use
The Hayden Library has 5 laptop computers available for loan from the circulation desk. Laptops are equipped with built-in wireless cards for internet access in the library.
Media Suite: Barker Engineering Library
View videos and DVDs, give a presentation, attend a web-based seminar, or participate in a video conference.
Off-campus access to electronic resources
Access MIT-only resources from home or other locations!
PDF delivery of articles from storage
Members of the MIT community can get free PDF copies of articles and chapters from print volumes in the Library Storage Annex. Use request links found in the Barton library catalog, SFX, or ILLiad to make a request.
 
Privilege Cards (P-cards)
Purchase a Privilege Card and borrow MIT library materials. (Some exceptions apply.)
Publishing Services
Library services and resources related to publishing: citation software, copyright, open access, impact factors, data management and more.
Reciprocal Faculty Borrowing Program: MIT Libraries
MIT Faculty may obtain on-site access and/or borrowing privileges at over 160 research libraries participating in the OCLC Reciprocal Faculty Borrowing Program.

Scanners
Self-service book scanners are now available in the MIT Libraries. These scanners are available for all library visitors to use instead of photocopying or printing, at no cost, and will allow easy scanning of most library materials.

Social Science Data Services provides assistance with finding, understanding, and managing statistics or numeric or tabular data in the social sciences, management, and related areas.

Theses: Submission to DSpace
Adding your thesis or dissertation to MIT's DSpace thesis collection is a great way to preserve the record of your scholarship at MIT. Theses in DSpace are visible to anyone in the world, and will be preserved digitally for long term use and access.
Video conferencing: Barker Media Suite
Initiate or attend a video-conference via an H.323 compatible system (IP video-conferencing).
Video tutorials
Learn how to search for materials, access MIT Libraries' collections, and use tools for bioinformatics and bibliographic management.
Web Courseware, Scanning for
Scan and convert paper documents to electronic format (PDF) for web based courseware applications such as Stellar, SloanSpace, Command, or Open CourseWare to support teaching and learning at MIT.

Your Account: Request Items
Your Account in the Barton catalog allows members of the MIT and Harvard borrowing communities to request MIT Libraries materials for pick-up at any MIT library.
