Using EndNote to Connect from a Mac

Mac users will need to configure their web browser to recognize the EndNote connection files for Barton and other MIT databases. How to do this will vary depending upon the browser; the following are instructions for Netscape Navigator 4.5:

  1. Select Edit / Preferences
  2. Select Navigator / Applications
  3. Click on "New Type"
  4. Now you will see a window labelled "New Type" with some fields to fill in. Complete them as follows:
    • Description of type: EndNote Connection File
    • MIME Type: application/endnote
    • Suffixes: enz
  5. Click the Application radio button
  6. Browse for the EndNote application on your disk
  7. Click on OK
  8. Now click on the link to the connection file you wish to use

The file will download and launch EndNote.
