Research Advisor
What is the Dewey
Research Advisor?
The
Dewey Research Advisor is a database of business and economic FAQs
and answers.
What can I do with the
Dewey Research Advisor?
- You
can use it to help with research projects in business or economics.
- The DRA points you to sources which provide answers or data for specific
questions--many of which have been asked before by students at MIT
and other schools.
- You are mining the collective efforts of many business librarians
who have found good sources for commonly asked questions.
Do
you have any tips on how to work with the Dewey Research Advisor?
- Pick a topic area and browse through the questions listed to get
a sense of the DRA content.
- Search
by typing a phrase or word into the search box. The
DRA will look through all its questions and answers and try to match
your question with an answer.
- If you
don't get a hit using a phrase, try entering a single word. If that
word doesn't get a hit, enter synonyms with the option 'any of these'
from the pull-down menu next to the search box.
- Use general terms rather than the names of particular companies,
individuals, or countries.
- Although the DRA seems a little like Google, it
does not search the web. It searches a growing collection of
questions and answer sources curated by business librarians.
