Metadata Services Unit

The MIT Libraries' Metadata Services Unit is a fee-based unit designed to support Institute metadata projects of any scale.

The Metadata Services Unit Offers:

  • extensive expertise in metadata applications, including the DDI;
  • consultation and project planning;
  • implementation of metadata schemes and standards;
  • creation of best practices that will enhance searching and retrieval of your resources; and
  • production services that will save your project time and money.

The Metadata Services Unit can help you to document your data sets in a variety of ways, including:

  • doing XML markup of your data documentation and
  • creating templates and workflows to help you mark up your documentation in DDI.
