SDC Platinum

Introduction

SDC Platinum is a collection of several financial databases. The MIT Libraries subscribe to:

  • Global New Issues (domestic: 1970+, international: varies, but none before 1978; in both cases most recent 30 days are excluded)
  • Syndicated Loans (1995+; most recent 30 days are excluded)
  • Mergers & Acquisitions (domestic: 1979+, international: 1985+; in both cases most recent 30 days are excluded)
  • VentureXpert (1969+)
(VentureXpert is also available in a web-based edition.)

In order to use the SDC Platinum databases, you must install the SDC Platinum software on your desktop. The SDC Platinum databases are also available to authorized MIT users on workstations in Dewey Library. Copies of the SDC Platinum user's handbook and quick reference guide are available for consultation in Dewey Library.

NOTE:

Dewey Library now subscribes to Bureau van Dijk's Zephyr, a web-based database of mergers & acquisitions, initial public offerings, joint ventures, and venture capital deals.

Technical Requirements

Your PC must meet the minimum systems requirements for the software to work. You will also need to have MIT certificates to install SDC Platinum on your computer.

NOTE:

  • Keep in mind, SDC recommends executing online updates of the software once per month.
  • There is no SDC Platinum software available for the Mac OS.
