SciFinder Scholar (MIT ONLY)

Introduction

SciFinder Scholar provides electronic access to Chemical Abstracts, which includes

• CAS Registry file with over 32 million organic and inorganic substances and over 59 million biosequences (7/25/07). See the latest CAS registry number and sequence count.
• CAPlus file which is the most comprehensive database of all chemical literature including patents and conference proceedings.

MIT Libraries subscription allows:

• eleven (11) simultaneous users.
• structure and substructure searching.

You can use SciFinder Scholar in

• Download the software into a PC or Mac within the MIT campus.
• For off-campus access, see SciFinder Scholar and MDL CrossFire Off-Campus Access.
• In the Science Library or Barker Engineering Library with your MIT ID.

Before installing SciFinder Scholar onto your computer, make sure it:

• meets minimum systems requirements.
• has MIT certificates installed.
• PC installation
• Mac installation

The MIT community can use SciFinder Scholar:

• for research purposes only.
• Any kind of commercial use is forbidden.
• Please read use restrictions before accessing SciFinder Scholar. There is a limit how many records you can download.
