Beilstein & Gmelin Databases
(MIT Only)

Beilstein and Gmelin databases gives access to large amount of chemical information:

  • structures
  • physical properties
  • reactions
  • over 8 million organic compounds (Beilstein)
  • 1.4 million inorganic and organometallic compounds (Gmelin)

You can search these databases by:

  • chemical structure and/or sub-structure
  • reactant or product
  • reaction sub-structure searching for organic compounds
  • atom-atom mapping and bond fate
  • keyword
  • author

Searchable fields include physical data and literature references. Hyperlinks allow for navigation between the molecule, the reaction, and the literature reference domains.

Access to Beilstein and Gmelin is available via DiscoveryGate and via CrossFire interfaces. Go to installation to see details how to download the appropriate software.
