Introduction to GIS for Architecture

Exercise 1: Creating a basic map
Make a quick map of Parcels, buildings, and roads with road names. Export data to CAD. Learn to export the map to PDF, Adobe Illustrator (AI), JPG, and other formats.

Exercise 2: Exploring Demographics
Download Census data, select some near a site and make a map of local demographic information. Make a chart.

Exercise 3:
Make an image line up with your GIS data (georeferencing). Add background imagery from the web. Add terrain data and extract contour lines from it.

Exercise 4: Working in 3D with ArcGlobe
Make a 3D scene showing the building site and surrounding structures.

Exercise 5: Challenge Exercise
Make a fly-around animation. Export the animation to an AVI file.
