Accessing data using the MIT Geodata Repository Search Tool for ArcGIS:

The MIT Geodata Search Tool for ArcGIS runs on top of ESRI's ArcGIS. (If ArcGIS is not installed on the machine you are working on you can fill out an online request for ArcGIS Desktop. (Note: ArcGIS only runs on windows).) The Geodata Search Tool is installed in the MIT GIS lab. If you do not see it when you open ArcMap you can turn it on in the toolbar section of ArcMap.

If the Geodata Search Tool is not installed on the machine you are working on you can

download and install it (Note: the latest version, released August 2007, includes the Census tool).

The MIT Geodata Repository is for use by the MIT community only and requires authentication. Users must log in to access the system. Setting up a user account requires MIT Certificates.
