Spatial Data at MITMIT Geodata Repository The MIT Geodata Repository enables access to an international collection of GIS data through the MIT
network. There are two easy ways to discover and access the data on the repository:

Many of the books, manuals, and data cd's can be found in the GIS Lab in Rotch Library, but it is best to search Barton, the libraries' online catalog, to check what is in the MIT libraries and where it is located.

Basic Search: A very general search could begin with searching by subject keyword = Geographic Information Systems. or subject begins with = Geographic Information Systems . An * can be used as a wildcard. Advanced Search: US Census Data at MIT
Rotch Library houses the Census of Population and Housing. Dewey Library houses the Economic Census. Searches in Barton can be limited to the Census Collection when using the advanced search screen. Geolytics is a company that has helped make mapping US Census data easier by packaging the data on cd with their software. More information about Geolytics can be found on their website at http://www.geolytics.com. A listing of Geolytics cd's available in the MIT Libraries can be found in Barton by doing an Advanced Search by Publisher = Geolytics. The Geolytics software can be found installed on the Census workstation in the GIS lab in Rotch Library.
